About Us
The South Asian Pittu Federation (SAPF) is the official body dedicated to preserving, promoting, and developing the traditional South Asian sport known as Pittu.
Pittu is a fast-paced team game that combines speed, strategy, and coordination. Once an integral part of village life and schoolyard play, this beloved game is now experiencing a powerful resurgence. At SAPF, we are leading the charge to transform Pittu from a casual pastime into a structured, competitive sport.
Our Objectives
SAPF was established to:
- Preserve the cultural heritage of Pittu across South Asia.
- Promote the sport through local and international events, workshops, and educational outreach.
- Standardize rules to ensure fair and exciting competition across regions.
- Empower communities; especially youth to reconnect with this traditional sport.
Our Vision
To establish Pittu as a recognized, organized sport while honoring its roots as a cultural tradition passed down through generations.
Why Pittu?
Because it’s more than just a sport. Pittu teaches teamwork, resilience, and quick decision-making. All it takes is seven Pittu pieces, a ball, and an open space; making it accessible, inclusive, and endlessly fun.
At its core, Pittu connects us to our past and brings people together in the present.
